Sunshine Lodge #99 Spreads Love and Kindness to Joy Rehab Center Residents on Valentine’s Day

CLEVELAND, MS – Valentine’s Day is often celebrated with chocolates, flowers, and expressions of love, but for Sunshine Lodge #99, it was an opportunity to give back to the community in a meaningful way. On February 14, 2025, members of the lodge visited Joy Rehab Center in Cleveland, MS, to distribute goodie bags filled with essential toiletries and delicious snacks to the residents.

Understanding the importance of community service, the brothers of Sunshine Lodge #99 wanted to ensure that the residents of Joy Rehab Center felt loved and appreciated. Each carefully prepared goodie bag included items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, lotion, and an assortment of snacks, providing both comfort and nourishment to those in need.

“We wanted to do something special for the residents here at Joy Rehab Center,” said a representative from Sunshine Lodge #99. “Valentine’s Day is about love, and what better way to show love than by giving to others?”

The event was met with warm smiles and heartfelt gratitude from the residents and staff. Many expressed their appreciation, sharing how such gestures make a significant difference in their lives. The lodge members took the time to engage with the residents, exchanging words of encouragement and fellowship, reinforcing the values of brotherhood and service.

Sunshine Lodge #99 has a long-standing commitment to uplifting the community through acts of kindness, outreach programs, and charitable initiatives. Their Valentine’s Day visit to Joy Rehab Center was just another example of their dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others.

As the day concluded, it was evident that the true spirit of Valentine’s Day had been beautifully exemplified—through generosity, compassion, and a commitment to serving others. Sunshine Lodge #99 looks forward to continuing its mission of giving back to the community and hopes to inspire others to do the same.

Truck -or - Treat

The Sunshine Masonic Lodge No.99 started serving full Christmas meals back in 2007 and aims to feed more people every year.

The doors were open at 10 a.m. for anyone to come and enjoy a hot meal.

On last year, the lodge fed 756 people and this year with over 75 turkeys and 30 pans of dressing, they are aiming for 1000.

They make sure to visit every senior citizen facility and housing area so that everyone is fed.

This year different sororities and fraternities also pitched in to help.
