Brief History of Sunshine Lodge #99

We are affiliated to the Most Worshipful Stringer Grand Lodge Jurisdiction of Mississippi out of Jackson, MS, where the Honorable Maurice F. Lucas, Sr. serves as the 11th Grand Master. Sunshine Lodge #99 was founded in 1957 located at 911 Chrisman Ave. Brother Larry Mims serves as the 4th Worshipful Master. We have over 60 active members on roll. Sunshine Lodge #99 is very active in the community. We provide an annually Christmas Dinner, serving over 600 hot meals for the community and less fortunate. Due to Covid-19, we provided the community with food boxes for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The boxes included a turkey, ham, fresh sweet potatoes, green beans, greens, and fresh fruit. We have been blessing high school students of Bolivar County with the Burke-Bradley Scholarships yearly amounting over $1000 scholarships for the past 20 years. The scholarship is in honor of the late Brothers Norman Burke and Daniel E. Bradley. We have adopted H.M. Nailor Elementary School where we provided school supplies, backpacks, books, and painted.
